The Silver Yarn Project

January 20, 2013

This post is kinda like a shameless plug for my boyfriend's FYP (final year project) – The Silver Yarn Project.

The Silver Yarn Project is a youth movement celebrating stories of our seniors. No longer should we neglect the relationships we have with our elderly. Take the first step and learn more about them today.

When we say seniors, we mean our grandparents, or even our elderly aunts and uncles.

In the modern age, it’s often too easy to attribute a lack of communication with our seniors to a generation gap. This is why we’re inviting everyone, especially youths to take the first step to speak to their seniors and learn about their lives.

As we listen to their stories, we discover parallels within our own lives. The same hopes as dreams, the same fears and insecurities. These remain across generations. The project aims to bridge the communication divide between the young and old and bring them closer.

Cheers,
HL
